As our nation prepared to plunge into the Civil War, leaders saw the need for organized training for young adults who were preparing to lead America into unprecedented times. Each land grant institution was founded with a tripartite mission: education, research, and extension. The education focus is one most of us are familiar with. To earn an undergraduate certificate in Presidential Leadership Academy Program, a minimum of 7 credits is required. All students are required to take 10 credits, seven through the Presidential Leadership Academy and three credits outside the academy. Courses must be at the 300 level or above.
